Natural Hair Style of the Day!

" The only regret I have with going natural is that I didn't do it sooner" -Anon.

Greetings everyone! I just wanted to talk about and show my natural hair style for the next couple of days. I have completely natural since January 2010, and I did the not so big chop in August 2010. Since August 2010, I have been enjoying my natural hair and wouldn't trade this journey at all!

 Big Chop- 8/2010

Since August 2010, YouTube has become my lifesaver! I have found so much support from so many women who have already been there and done that! I look for product reviews, to hair washing regiments, and hair styles! There have been times when I've seen a view and wanted to do the style but never took the time to try it. Well recently one of my Facebook friends posted a video of a style that I really like. I had some time on my hands and thought I would try it....look below at the results!!

The Inspiration Video and Style

This style is Easy Up do Style with braided sides by Beautiful BrwnBabyDol

Here are my results...............

Right Side

I would have love to braid my sides, but I'm not a good at braiding! So instead of braids, I did two strand flat twist and they worked out just as well! I did the bangs a little different this time, but I will be trying this style again and try various bang styles! Overall, this style was very easy to complete. The twist on the sides were the only part that gave a little trouble but eventually I got the hang of it!

If you have any favorite stylist on YouTube....please share!

Have a blessed day,
Chenille

P.S.- Life is so precious, so please cherish it and the ones you love! So devastated to hear about the lost of Ms. Whitney Houston. She was truly a powerful and authentic singer. May her soul rest in peace!

Thrifting/Consignment Shopping in Mobile!

Hello everyone! I know...I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I hope to be more dedicated to my blog in 2012!

For those you know me, you will agree I'm a lover of fashion! I love to shop and definitely shop until I drop! I have been reading a few plus size fashion blogs lately, and I have noticed how these bloggers are going shopping at thrift and/or consignment stores. Now some might frown upon those stores just as I have done before. I mainly never shopped at the thrift or consignment store, because I could never find my size! But after reading Shapely Louise,   Cheap Chic and Curvy, Freshly Fatshionable, and many more; I realized my I should give thrifting one more try! So my friend and I went to Mobile, Alabama for the weekend a few weeks ago and decided to search for thrift and consignment stores. These are the stores we visited:
Penelope's Closet
63 North Florida Street, Mobile, AL 36607

Seconds on Sage
85 N Sage Ave, Mobile, AL 36607
Carol's Consignment Boutique
18 S Sage AveMobileAL 36606
Here are some pictures of our experience in Mobile!
Our  shopping cart full of great deals!

We even had Grandma out shopping for great deals!!!

We both manage to find some great jackets!

She was able to utilize her purchase later in the weekend! She found this Levi's Trucker Jacket, and fell in love! This jacket in retail stores is around $75 or more....she got it for $10!

Me and Britt tailgating at the Senior Bowl!

She also found this double-breasted fuchsia blazer for $15!

We both found fabulous deals and can't wait to go "thrifting" again!

Take care,
Chenille
